The theme of finding a parallel between the classical approach to realizing ideas and practices based on drawing and digital tools for creative work is valid in an international context.
But drawing, on the border of other arts, has been largely ignored. The project emphasizes new technologies such as passing through different material and digital carriers of visual information.

In a national context, the concept of “intermediate” is explored for the first time as a theoretical analysis and application of the ideas of Dick Higgins on the fusion of different types and genres of art. The results of the research were applied in practice as a creative task in the 1st year of the “Drawing and Intermedia” specialty. One of the essential questions to which the author’s team seeks an answer is to what extent the students and teachers of the Faculty of Fine Arts are ready to overcome the stereotypes related to the role and meaning of drawing. The project is innovative for the Bulgarian and international art scene and sets a long-term experimental program for interdisciplinary creativity. It creates a lasting trend to develop new academic programs in the specialty “Drawing and Intermedia”. The results can also be used by various cultural organizations in Veliko Tarnovo and the country, which are increasingly turning to the strategies of contemporary art to reach a new audience – a trend that has received upward social development in recent years.
First-year students publicly present the new specialty “Drawing and Interlude” as part of the “Media, Interlude, Drawing” project. The realized video was developed on the basis of a method of collective search for ideas (brainstorming). The goal is to visually present the concept of “intermediate” – a term coined by Fluxus artist and composer Dick Higgins to describe the mixing of different artistic media and disciplines. The main object of the presented creative solutions are the interrelationships between the different means of expression and their rethinking in the context of the most modern artistic practices.
The students participating in the project are: Velislava Stoykova, Viktoria Nikolova, Pavel Nedev, Radoslav Alexandrov, Roslana Eftimova, Svetoslav Svetoslavov
